Low friction has brought enormous advantages to every Straight-wire technique. Passive self-ligation has it’s focus points in reducing friction and thereby increasing efficiency in the speed of leveling and alignment and sliding mechanics. Nevertheless, friction is not an enemy to the orthodontist and it is essential for three-dimensional control of tooth movement. Dual Activation mechanics are the key to efficient alignment, torque control and a beautiful and effective finishing. The lecture will focus on the most efficient and effective approach to class II and class III malocclusions using a Dual Activation system and auxiliaries such as the Powescope, the Power bar,  intra-oral distalizers and orthopedic appliances. Both compliance and no-compliance mechanics will be discussed and as well the role of TADs in modern orthodontics.
